Elodea canadensis. Similar to Elodea densa but much smaller. Keeps water conditioned and oxygenated; recommended for photosynthesis studies. Can survive and grow as floating fragments. Our vigorous, healthy plants need good light and should be anchored in soil or sand. Cultivated form. With instructions.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Died after putting it in my pond I bought this to add to my pond/natural swimming pool. They all died. Water quality is good, so not sure what happened. I'd like to get more to get elodea established, but with the high shipping costs it's too much.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from had several snails attached Item arrived timely. The specimen had several brown patches one large snail crawling in bag and when I dipped in a salt solution I found multiple small ones. I bough 12 springs and 2/3 rds had snails.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hardy organism Bought this product in October and doing well. I didn't have it in a place where it was getting enough light and they nearly all died but I moved them into a tank in the window and they all came back and are going strong. Came with helpful instructions and was as described.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wrong species: Elodea nuttallii not E. canadensis We received the plant identified it to species using plant keys and genetic testing and determined it was actually Elodea nuttallii, not Elodea canadensis. This disrupted an important experiment. In the future, it would waste less of our time if this company identified the species they sent us correctly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Difficult Plant to Find in the Aquarium Trade This plant (Elodea canadensis AKA American Waterweed, Canadian Waterweed or Pondweed, Anacharis canadensis) resembles the popular Anacharis (Egeria densa AKA Anacharis densa, Brazilian Waterweed) but is smaller - like a "dwarf" version of Anacharis. It is difficult or nearly impossible to find in the North American aquarium trade, even though it really should be much more popular due to the fact that it is less likely to ruin North American lakes than Anacharis if it ends up in one (you do not want it ending up in lakes in Europe, Australia, South America, Asia or the UK however, and some states in the USA have a ban on this plant). I urge more aquarium owners and Limnology (fresh water body) researchers to order this plant.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Product was good Need to include care instructions if not immediately using. I have killed my Elodea because I ordered several weeks in advance and am not sure how to care for it.
