Carolina™ Infrared Bacteria Sterilizers use asbestos-free ceramic core heater element to provide 1,500° F (815° C) of infrared heat. They sterilize platinum and nichrome loops, needles, glass tubes, pipet mouths, and many other instruments. Compact and convenient, Carolina™ Infrared Bacteria Sterilizers are great for use in anaerobic and aerobic chambers. Heater elements are replaceable and safely enclosed to protect users from accidental contact. A handy "standby" temperature setting extends the element's usable life. Available in 120-V and 230-V versions. Optional accessories include a Loop Holder Attachment (item #703401) that keeps loop handles from overheating and melting during sterilization, and a Slide Dryer Attachment (item #703402) for drying up to 3 slides quickly and safely. Replacement Heater Elements in 115-V (item #703419) and 230-V (item #703419E) versions are also available.

 
 
 
 
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful! Although expensive, this is a wonderful tool is have in any microbiology lab. I have one to demonstrate other methods to sterilize inoculating loops.
