Minute polyhedral form, 25-nm diam, with circular, single-stranded DNA; a close relative of S13 phage; good for plaque morphology and demonstrating effect of cations on phage growth. Bacteriophage is individually tested for quality and titer. This coliphage is supplied as filtered (sterile) peptone broth suspension of high relative infective titer (109 to 1011 plaque-forming particles/mL) in screw-cap vial. Vial contains 5 mL and proven titer is noted on label.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product for experimentation It worked in just the way I needed it to and got the experiment to work. You won't find many other places with ssDNA phages, so the diversity was appreciated. Just note that I only got it to work on E. coli C. Nothing showed up for B or K-12.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from did not produce plaques on E. coli C the lab to compare the two phages did not work as planned. The t4 phages worked, but the phi phage didn't.
