Rated 4 out of 5 by from Interesting to watch life cycle After receiving my 6 tiny larvae, one died almost immediately, and then another one died the next day. I was a little worried that it would happen to the rest, but the other 4 larvae grew nice and big, make chrysalis and turned into nice little white butterflies. Very cool to watch the full life cycle and see the differences between these butterflies and the painted ladies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Success in a cup! On receipt of the culture found 6 larvae, one much smaller than the others. All pupated OK and hatched - 100% hatch rate which gave 2 male and 4 female Pieris rapae butterflies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked out better than expected Ordered this item after having an unexpected set back with raising caterpillars from eggs. Caterpillars arrived just fine, had to transfer them to a larger living space once they outgrew the culture cup they were shipped in. All six become healthy butterflies within almost 2 weeks of their arrival. The spots on their wings are not exactly identical which makes tracking each individual butterfly easy. Will be ordering this item again, next spring! Highly recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great fun, much enjoyment arrived as caterpillars, then they ate mostly the food they came with not much of cabbage, then cocoons and butterflies

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth purchasing these caterpillars. Bought this larvae for my 5 year old since he loves the cycle of caterpillars to butterflies. Not a single caterpillar made it to butterfly-hood. I will not purchase again, very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great 4H project in entomology Purchased the cabbage butterflies for an entomology projects. It's been two weeks and one of the butterflies emerged today. Can't wait until the Painted Ladies emerge too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun to compare! Our class compared the growth and chrysalis stage of Cabbage Whites with Painted Ladies and it was a very interesting experiment. There are big differences in the caterpillar size, the chrysalis shape and how it attaches and the butterflies themselves. Very interesting to compare.
