Rated 5 out of 5 by from Things went wrong - Carolina made it right. We've done these in classrooms for years, but something went wrong and almost all our larvae died this year. We called the company, and the promptly and cheerfully replaced the items. This has been a great product year-in and year-out, it's good to know that on the rare occasion things go wrong, the company stands behind it like few do these days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality - my students loved them The cultures came quickly and consisted of high quality materials. The food was easy to transfer to the individual cups and the larvae were vibrant and healthy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clear cups improve view The picture shows translucent cups, but we received clear ones. The clear ones that we received are better because you can see the caterpillar better. The cups are sturdy and the lids fit well. The lids have two tiny air holes. Great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fascinating! Kids love making living necklaces using the 1 ounce portion cup with a dab of caterpillar substrate, a tissue on the top, a lid, and a piece of string taped onto the container so they can wear it on their neck and show it off to their friends. They can watch their project grow and change every day until a beautiful painted lady butterfly emerges. It is a great activity that does not require batteries or staring at a video screen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very convenient method of distributing the caterpillars for observation. Each child was able to have a caterpillar on his/her desk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Painted Lady Butterflies create an engaging unit My second graders loved this kit. The larvae come really small which is great because the students get to see them grow and shed their skin. They are the perfect size to put under a Dukane or Digital microscope. The students enjoyed getting to watch the caterpillars grow larger and form their chrysalis. My school has purchased this kit for me for the past 7 years. My favorite part is seeing the students reactions when the chrysalis' start to shake and the caterpillars emerge. The larvae are of great quality. This kit goes hand in hand with the second grade curriculum and provides the students with an experience they wouldn't normally get to see. My helpful hint I have learned over the past several years is that the tissue paper is hard for me to transfer to the net (I'm paranoid I will drop the chrysalis) so when the caterpillars get large I place their cups with the tops off in the butterfly nets and let them form their chrysalis on the side of the net. I love how much the students learn about caterpillars and butterflies from using this kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous hands-on learning experience for my students! I am a teacher in Florida and have been ordering Carolina butterfly larvae for 16 years! It is a wonderful hands on learning experience for my students and is well worth the money. Their quality is top notch, their ordering process is easy, and their staff is very helpful and knowledgable. I can't wait to order them in the Spring every year. Many of my previous students come back and tell me this was their favorite activity they ever had in school. I highly recommend Carolina Biological for this phenomenal product!
