Materials for a class of 32 students working in groups of 4.
Discover Mendelian genetics and explore the role of inheritance using Wisconsin Fast Plants® seedlings.
Students uncover and experience the mechanism of Mendelian genetics hands-on with Wisconsin Fast Plants®. Using Fast Plants® seedlings, students germinate F1 and F2 generations of a population to learn about the inheritance of traits, including stem color and length. After drawing conclusions about inheritance in the population, students are tasked with using inquiry to determine the genotype of an unknown sample of Fast Plants® seed. This kit brings Mendelian genetics into your classroom and features quick results and robust data analysis, including chi-square and Hardy-Weinberg. Kit includes enough materials for a class of 32 students working in groups of 4.

From one day to the next, students witness the rapid growth of these amazing plants, which can have a dramatic impact on the way your students learn. What's even better, there's a kit that's relevant to the topic you're teaching, whether it's plant biology, environmental science, genetics, or even mathematics.
As the exclusive supplier of Fast Plants® for the educational market, Carolina takes pride in delivering top-of-the-line materials to your class. All kits come with everything you need to complete the activities. Just add a light source and you're on your way to joining the thousands of teachers who routinely use these plants to enhance their curriculum.
Classroom Kits contain seeds and supplies for up to 32 students. Student Kits are great for classroom demonstrations,
homeschoolers, and science fair projects.
With the current AP® Biology curriculum, you are no longer limited to 12 prescribed labs in your classroom—meaning you can now teach the course using labs that fit your classroom and student interests.
Carolina is proud to be the only supplier with unique kits and activities that are exclusively designed for the new AP® curriculum. Our Carolina Investigations® series is specifically aligned to the Big Ideas and Science Practices and was built from the ground up with the help of expert AP® teachers.
Focused on making inquiry easier in your classroom, Carolina Investigations® kits feature activities that allow students to take a guided approach to inquiry while building their Science Practices and connecting the Big Ideas. These kits offer an initial skill-building activity that features a more traditional classroom approach. This is followed by a secondary investigation using a unique experimental design template to help guide those student-driven, inquiry-based learning opportunities.
