Carolina Biological Supply Company supports inquiry-based learning with the launch of “
Inquiries in Science® Mini-Grant Program” for high school science teachers.
50 high school teachers will be selected from applications to receive a mini-grant: an
Inquiries in Science® kit valued at approximately $150. Each winning teacher will be able to choose a kit from the
Inquiries in Science®
Biology Series or
Chemistry Series award list.
Inquiries in Science® is an innovative series of hands-on kits designed to help high school students understand abstract, hard-to-grasp science concepts. Each kit features lab activities that actively engage students in learning science essentials through guided inquiry.
“
Inquiries in Science® kits can improve students’ understanding of complex scientific subjects,” said Melissa Hodges, Marketing Manager at Carolina Biological Supply Company. “We’re excited to provide this opportunity so more students can experience the benefit of hands-on learning”.
To complete the mini-grant online application, go to
www.carolina.com/inquiries. Applications must be submitted by
May 27, 2010. Winners will be selected based on need, experience, and ideas for integrating the kit into curriculum and project goals.
