Shipping Methods and Pricing
We offer three convenient shipping methods. Note that living and perishable materials automatically ship via 2nd Day Air and will arrive on the date(s) you select in your Shopping Cart. Shipping rates and methods are below. Please note that these rates apply to online purchases only.

Living and Perishable Materials
A heart icon () indicates an item is (or contains) living or perishable material. To keep these items fresh during shipping, a $2 Living Materials Fee (per order) is added to your order to cover the special packaging used.

When you add one of these items to your Shopping Cart, you will be able to select a specific arrival date by clicking the calendar icon (). Note that these items automatically ship via 2nd Day Air to arrive on the date(s) you select. Please arrange to have someone available to care for living and perishable items when they arrive.

Hazardous Materials
The shipment of many hazardous items is regulated by the US Department of Transportation. Items subject to regulation are identified by a hazardous material icon (). Due to the special handling required, a $20 Hazardous Materials Fee applies to orders containing these items (one fee per order, not per item).

Orders for hazardous materials (and kits and sets containing these items) can only be accepted from schools, research institutions, medical facilities, and businesses. Hazardous materials cannot be shipped to individuals, homeschoolers, and other customers.

Drop-Shipped Items
Some of our items are shipped directly from the manufacturer. These drop-shipped items are identified online by an attention icon (). Hover over the icon with your mouse for an estimated delivery time.

Multiple Shipments
Your order may be divided into multiple shipments that arrive at different times. For example, living materials (and the kits and sets that contain them) arrive at the time you specified when you ordered, but other items in your order may ship and arrive at different times. If your order contained any backordered items, they will not arrive with the bulk of your order, but will ship as soon as they are available.
