Dropper Bottle Substitute
Are you out of dropper bottles and need a substitute method of dispensing
chemicals? If so, try this:
1.
Pour the chemical in a beaker and then cover the beaker with Parafilm®. |
2.
Poke a hole through the film and put a disposable pipet in the hole. |
3.
Instruct students on how to use the pipet to dispense the chemical. |
This method helps reduce the chances of a spill and makes students be extra
careful because it takes a little bit of work to pull the pipet out. In
addition, there is less likelihood of contamination because students know
exactly where to return the pipet.
