Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not so good This was bought for a student science project to try to have multiple specimens for an environmental impact study. We followed all the instructions. The triops that hatched ate the daphnia eggs and we had more triops than daphnia.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a single daphnia. Once I got these in the mail, it only took minutes to set up, just fill the container with natural spring water, and over night the creatures sprung. Even though the intrustions say 36-48 hours, I only had to wait overnight, and then I got to see some action. Unfortunately, all I got were brine shrimp (sea monkeys) and now I have I am seeing a few triops appear. I have been looking through the microscope sense organisms have been appearing, and I have not found a single daphnia.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good for my needs If you live in the far north and can't have live Daphnia shipped in the winter months, this kit is great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good This is the first kit I've purchased that uses eggs instead of live organisms for the culture. While it was a good buy and I avoided the live culture overnight shipping I found that the daphnia took longer than 3 weeks to grow to maturity and there weren't as many as I would like in the end. I count roughly 50 at the most for the entire gallon. I bought this as live food for my fish and it's worked out well so far. Though I have noticed that I have a good culture of micro fauna in the gallon as well.
