Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for learning/poor construction I love this kit, because it really helps student understand the content. However, the magnets do not hold well to the manipulates to the board even with superglue, and often there is not enough magnets to hold it up. Also the t-RNA paper pieces might be too fragile for some student groups to use. If you have students that are good with taking care of supplies, I would highly recommend this kit. If your students are rough on manipulates I would skip this one, because it might not last. Recommendations: If the large pieces for the board were printed on a thin magnetic sheet they would hold better and be more usable. The student use pieces should either be wider or perhaps constructed of foam board instead of laminated paper.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Student materials do not hold up well. I too experienced the problem with the magnets. The bigger issue for me is that the student materials did not hold up well. The tRNA and amino acid models tore easily.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from doesn't work on white board We also had problems with the magnets. The magnets fell off and we had to reglue them and they weren't strong enough to stay on the whiteboard. They slide down the board. It was very disappointing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great idea, very poor execution. This would be a great tool in explaining and understanding transcription and translation, but the glue holding the magnets is ineffective. However, this doesn't matter, because the magnets are not strong enough to hold the parts on the board. Could be a great tool, but not worth that much money if the magnets fall off and it won't stay on the board.
