In a cut-away barrel, you can easily see the imperfections created during the rifling and machining process. The Large barrel is oversized (1" diam x 5" L) aluminum that has been cut in half to expose easy-to-see characteristics and markings. The Small barrel (38/100" diam x 4 8/10" L) is an economical alternative. Both items make great additions to the Basic Forensic Firearm Identification Kit (item #212151).
