Panagrellus redivivus. For a class of 30 students. Free-living nematode known to many aquarium enthusiasts and fish keepers as the microworm. The microworm is about 50 µm in diameter and just over 1 mm in length, barely visible to the naked eye. General life span is 20-25 days and starts reproducing at 3 days of age; live-bearing 10 to 40 young every 1 to 1-1/2 days. Culture on sterilized potato medium.
