Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smelly but in good condition. The Perfect Solution still has a strong smell so beware. The brains are in good condition for the most part. Definitely a worthwhile activity for students.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly as advertised I lead neuroscience outreach activities for elementary and middle schoolers, and I've ordered Carolina sheep brains several times. Exactly as advertised - it's a sheep brain. Comes in a nice reusable storage jar, submerged in the "non-toxic" Carolina fixative (while of course we still have the kids wear gloves, we can worry a bit less than with PFA). The kids absolutely love getting to hold and examine real brains, and it makes our lessons much more tangible and engaging.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from TheRedKing The pail came with a plentiful amount of preservative solution to keep the freshness of the tissues preserved for the bulk of brains; each brain was in great condition!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product for engaging, hands-on dissection The product was of high quality, came in a convenient packaging for both storage and disposal. The lab guide was also great and the students had a wonderful time being able to see for themselves the components they have been learning about. It's difficult sometimes to visualize where things are relative to each other and this helped clear it up substantially, making for a great and engaging activity. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, inexpensive way to show students a real brain I've ordered these brains several times and they have been a huge hit with students each time. They come well-packaged in a jar within a plastic bag. Fixative smells a bit, but nothing like formalin. Students love getting to touch a real brain and they provide a great opportunity to review the different parts.

  • No dangerous off-gassing
