You can either receive the living organisms with your kits, or you can choose to have them shipped when you need them. Carolina Biological has worked with Earth's Birthday Project to develop and sell these kits, which include a poster and experiments. When you buy an Amazing Bugs™ product, you make a donation to purchase and protect one acre of threatened habitat to help save endangered species. Since 1989, students and teachers participating in the Big Gift to the Earth initiative have raised more than $6 million to purchase and conserve more than 400,000 acres of precious rain forest and habitat.

Students learn about mantis behavior and life cycle as they observe the mantises hatch, hunt, molt, and grow. Egg cases contain 50–150 baby mantises. Hatching usually takes 2 to 8 weeks, so please be patient! Includes a small starter fruit fly culture to feed babies.

Kits include Easy Instructions, Fun Activities, and a 24 x 24 color poster. Praying mantises cannot be released in CT. (Available mid-January - mid-June)
