Our Flightless Fruit Fly Kit carries you and your students through the typical scoring, breeding, and chi-square Drosophila exercises without the hassle of escaped flies. The Drosophila specimens used in this kit have been specially bred so their wings are too short to sustain flight, making them very easy to handle. The wing morphology is otherwise identical to wild-type Drosophila, enabling you to study wing structure and function, unlike other flightless varieties of the flies.
