Grade 5. Students make and test conjectures about the perimeter and area of regular 2-dimensional shapes. They explore a set of 3-dimensional shapes to develop comparisons of polyhedra, cones, and cylinders. They classify triangles and quadrilaterals according to their properties and explore transformations and tessellations. A Bright Idea Geometry Journal is kept throughout the lessons.
