Children explore the form and function of plant and animal cells on their own. Using this kit, students work in pairs to build a model of a plant or animal cell using craft materials to represent different cell parts and organelles. Before building their models, students draw parallels between the model parts and the cell components they represent. Once the models are assembled, students compare the contents and structure of the plant and animal cell models.
