An organism’s quality of life depends largely on the environmental conditions under which it exists. This kit introduces students to fundamental aspects of air and water quality through experimental measurement of dissolved oxygen, pH, total water hardness (EDTA method), total available phosphate, chloride concentration, lead, and particulate matter (air). Additional studies, including the effects of gaseous pollutants and rainwater chemistry, can be done using the components of this kit. An informative teacher’s manual is included.
