- Investigate the effects of air pollutants on living organisms
- Conduct experiments to determine the effects of chemical air pollutants on the environment
- Assess the levels of ozone and air particulates in a local area
Grades 9–12. Students explore different types of chemical and physical air pollutants in their area and research the sources of these pollutants, as well as the health hazards associated with them. As a capstone activity, students use their knowledge to design and conduct experiments that determine the effects of different chemical air pollutants on living organisms.
Part of the Inquiries in Science™ series. Materials are sufficient for 30 students working in groups.
