- Discover natural and human sources of greenhouse gases
- Investigate how oceans absorb excess carbon dioxide
- Experiment to analyze the effects of carbon dioxide under varying environmental conditions
Grades 9–12. Students explore how all greenhouse gas sources contribute to global climate change. First they discover, through experimentation, how the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide interacts with the atmosphere to contribute to rising global temperatures.
They also investigate the role of the ocean as a carbon sink and how climate change can affect the uptake and sequestration of carbon dioxide.
Finally, students experiment with a carbon dioxide chamber to see the effects under different climate conditions. By altering variables they test their own theories on the connection between this gas and global warming.
