Because it is LED based, this illuminator offers significant advantages over halogen lighting systems. It consumes less power, runs cooler and quieter, and its bulbs have an estimated 50,000-hr life. (Halogen bulbs have an estimated 200 hr life.) It's daylight quality illumination is 20 to 25% brighter than that produced by traditional fiber optic lighting systems. Each 25" flexible light guide features 12 ultrabright, white LEDs mounted in a protective antistatic housing.
