With this kit, students will: First study 2 monohybrid crosses in corn, and use Punnett squares to diagram the crosses and make predictions about the F2 resulting from each cross. They score phenotypes, compare their data to expected results, and draw conclusions. Building on their results, students are then asked to consider a cross that combines the 2 sets of alleles involved in the monohybrid crosses (i.e., a dihybrid cross). Students again construct a Punnett square to predict the F2 and collect data to test their predictions and draw conclusions.
