Grade 4. Students solve problems that require the conversion of units within the metric system or the customary system. Estimations of measurements using a variety of units are made and confirmed. Unit lessons address measurements of time, distance, area, volume, capacity, temperature, weight, and mass.
Materials include rulers, tape measures, a class thermometer, clocks, centimeter cubes, balances, and scales.
