Grade 2. Students sort a 3-dimensional shape collection, with special attention to the attributes of prisms, and identify 3-dimensional shapes in the world around them. They explore the position of objects on a grid and use geometric attributes to build and take apart structures. The unit focuses on congruency, symmetry, transformations, and geometric patterns. Writing is an integral part of the lessons.
