Students develop general descriptions for prisms, pyramids, cones, cylinders, and spheres as they investigate a set of 3-dimensional shapes. They develop a general description for polygons and analyze quadrilaterals and parallelograms. Students continue to investigate transformations using position and location on grids. This unit introduces the Bright Idea Geometry Journal to help students develop general descriptions for basic 3-dimensional shapes.
