Grade 1. Students focus on shape symmetry and geometric patterns as they sort 2-dimensional shapes and collections of 3-dimensional objects. They begin to learn about the building of 3-dimensional structures and learn to recognize and create shapes that have symmetry. Writing is an integral part of the lessons.
