- Biotechnology of Plants, including plant breeding, gene transfer, and plant tissue culture
- Biotechnology of Animals, including products and impacts of animal biotechnology; animal reproductive techniques; and cloning and genetic engineering
- Biotechnology and the Environment, including biotechnology for detecting and cleaning polluted sites
