Reusable plastic pop beads allow students to manually construct recombinant plasmid molecules. Includes 7 colors of sturdy plastic beads. Students make parent plasmids with genes of interest using color-coded fragments.
Separation of pop bead plasmids into color-coded sections simulate restriction digests with corresponding restriction enzyme sites designated by beads of different colors. Recombination of color-coded beads lets students see the possible outcomes. Materials and instructions for 6 teams of students are included.
