- Study stoichiometry in a new and innovative way
- Write and balance chemical equations
- Use stoichiometry to calculate percent yield
Grades 9–12. Students first use manipulative cards to set up and practice stoichiometric problems. Then they obtain data from chemical reactions, which they compare with the results of their stoichiometric calculations, and determine the percent yield. In the concluding activity, students design experiments with a variety of chemicals to determine the amount used of each substance and the percent yield for the reaction.
