- Discover periodicity through observing patterns in chemical reactions
- Simulate Mendeleev’s organization of elements
- Perform experiments on microscale to reduce hazardous waste
Grades 9–12. Introduce students to the basic components of the periodic table and trends found within it. By performing a collection of microscale experiments, students discover physical evidence of trends in the properties of elements. Students use this knowledge to design their own arrangement of the elements based on what they have learned.
Part of the Inquiries in Science™ series. Materials are sufficient for 30 students working in groups of 3 and include classroom-safe elements, Periodic Table Element information cards, and other materials.
