This two-tier composter is designed to encourage worms to move from the collector tray to the working tray as they complete their work. Easily remove the bottom tray and add its contents to your garden. The flow-through ventilation maximizes oxygen availability and minimizes odors. A sturdy, drip-free spigot allows drainage, without the mess, and the resulting "worm tea" makes an excellent fertilizer for garden beds and potted plants. Show students how redworms facilitate the breakdown of food waste into nutrient-rich fertilizer. The composter can process approximately 5 to 6 lb of food scraps each week.
Composter is made from durable 100% recycled plastic and comes with everything you need to get started except the worms. We recommend 1,000 redworms (item #141652), sold separately. Composter assembled size, approximately 29" H x 20" W.
