These single-use lancets are pre-armed for convenience and safety. The tip is concealed before use and retracts completely after a single release to prevent reuse or accidental contamination. Gentle pressure at the test site activates the lancet mechanism. These lancets are available in 3 flow options. The low-flow lancet contains a 28-gauge needle that penetrates the skin 1.7 mm, collecting 5 to 10 µL of blood; this is ideal for glucose testing. The medium-flow lancet contains a 22-gauge needle that penetrates 2.2 mm into the test site, collecting 20 to 40 µL of blood for glucose testing, blood typing, or microhematocrit exercises. The high-flow lancet collects 75 to 100 µL of blood using a 19-gauge needle that penetrates the skin 1.8 mm. This lancet can be used when filling microcollection and capillary tubes or during blood-typing exercises. Each box contains 100 lancets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Safety First Our laboratory motto is "Safety first." These lancets are perfect for teaching blood collecting to new students because the retracting blade protects everyone from an accidental stick and reduces the anxiety of students who are learning to perform finger sticks.
