For a class of 30 students. An amazing experiment that tests the ability of sperm to detect and swim to a chemical signal (positive chemotaxis). Using sperm released from 12- to 18-day-old C-FERN® gametophytes, students test the ability of sperm to detect and swim to a chemical signal. Requires use of a stereomicroscope at 12x or higher with transmitted (bottom) illumination. This is an accessory kit that can be used with all other C-FERN® cultures. Cultures and culture materials are not included in this kit. The wild type or F1 polka dot stock of spores is recommended. Experiment time is 1/2 to 1 hour, not including culture time. With instructions.
