Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ready to customize! While this product is listed for an AP course you can easily adjust it for a biology class with students who are comfortable handling live animals. Spoiler alert! The Daphnia steal the show. Provided you have enough dissecting microscopes you are in for revealing views. The Casper fish were less successful on our end. It is listed that a microscope will do. Since they are too thick, it won't work out. Hence you will need double the amount of scopes or plan to carry it out on different days. The process of getting the fish into the torpid state and then inserting them into the special chambers was challenging. Since, the largest of the fish did not reach the state of torpor even after a long period on ice water be sure to select the smallest fish from your shipment. Alas they will also most likely perish within a day or two. But then you will be left with some ambassadors for the rest of the year. Be prepared with a tank for the remaining guests. When ordering do not skimp on the number of fish. Since you are working with live animals if helps if you can be flexible with your scheduling. Sometimes the shipping doesn't go as planned as what happened in my situation. But relax, you are working with a solid company, Carolina will have you on track. I can attest to their pledge they have made to us teachers.
