A fun and safe way to bring STEM-based learning into the classroom!
Grades 5–10. This complete STEM-based curriculum guides students through the culturing and presumptive identification of common microbes on innovative LaMotte® BioPaddles®. Each paddle contains microbe-specific media enclosed in a sterile vial. Working in teams, students perform surface sampling to explore and identify microbes encountered daily in their school surroundings. During their investigations, students apply science, technology, engineering, and math concepts. The activities develop critical-thinking skills and emphasize engineering as a key component.
Kit includes teacher's manual, student guide, and presentations on CD-ROM; BioPaddles® to perform the first 2 activities; and magnifying lenses. Additional paddles (item #653579) may be purchased to perform additional activities in the teacher's manual.
