0.00 - 0.00

A simple and elegant way to perform osmosis and diffusion experiments. The chamber comes with 2 nanofiltration membranes that allow water molecules to pass through but not larger molecules, such as sugars. Description

A simple and elegant way to perform osmosis and diffusion experiments. The chamber comes with 2 nanofiltration membranes that allow water molecules to pass through but not larger molecules, such as sugars. This chamber is a more authentic model for how osmosis works in the cell membrane. To run experiments, different solutions are injected into each side of the chamber using a pipette. Students observe changes in volume on each side of the chamber and make both qualitative and quantitative observations. The Carolina® Osmosis Chamber Set also comes with access to digital resources including lab sheets, setup videos, and a template so your students can cut membranes out of other materials, such as dialysis tubing. Additional nanofiltration membranes are available for separate purchase.
