Description

Grades 5-8. This kit meets many of the National Science Education Standards in life science. Introduce students to the concepts of genes, mutation, and how the genetic sequence (genotype) affects the observable trait (phenotype) in living organisms. Using magnification, students observe the variations in phenotypes as a result of mutation in a variety of Drosophila.

An anesthetizer, hand lenses, and sorting brushes are included for easy observation and manipulation of flies. The use of a dissecting microscope (not included) is optional. Designed for 32 students.
