Rated 5 out of 5 by from SUPER Products, Quality & Delivery We ordered redworms for our daughter's project. They arrived as promised and all the worms were in great condition (except only one or two dead worms). Our daughter is happy! Thank you so much for your prompt delivery and great products! Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highest Quality E. fetida I've procured I'm a laboratory manager who routinely conduct aquatic and terrestrial toxicology studies. We run several types of assays using E. fetida, including 14 day and 28 day exposure survival studies and 28 day bioaccumulation (body burden) studies. Procuring viable E. fetida for these tests has been a historic issue. Suppliers who rear worms for composting tend to provide their most aged animals, given their own need to perpetuate their population. These aged organisms, while appearing healthy, do not sustain in test conditions, or in standard holding and culturing conditions past ~2 weeks. We've trialed several suppliers, and Carolina Biological is the only supplier to provide young, robust worms who have proven viable for holding, testing and culturing. They are now the only supplier I will use for this species. I've noted reviews indicating that lot counts of orders received have been low. I would advise anyone concerned about this that: A) many other, less reputable suppliers will assuredly "short " your order with little or no recourse on your part, and B) even if you receive your target numbers the quality will be inferior to what you will receive from Carolina Biological. As indicated, I've conducted extensive assessments with this species and an array of suppliers and I will be using Carolina Biological exclusively moving forward.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not enough worms We ordered two sets for my son's science project. Needed about 160 worms, figured two sets would be enough. Each set is supposed to have 75 to 100 worms. Part of the experiment was to count and weigh the worms, so I know that there were fewer than 50 worms in each container. We ended up with less than 100 worms from the two containers. Order more than you think you'll need.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too expensive and did not receive what we paid for. The worms were overpriced. I paid for 2 day shipping and they took a full week. Then when we received them, 2 of the containers contained only dirt. The remaining 2 containers had way fewer worms than advertised. I am disappointed and this affected my son's science experiment as we did not have time to order more. We will not use this company again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worms Arrived as scheduled. All were healthy and are currently eating kitchen scraps in a worm used to teach Pre-K through 6th grade about decomposition, recycling, gardening, and ecosystems.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for Inquiry Labs We've found the redworms to be an inexpensive and easy to manage invertebrate for our students to use in inquiry labs. Plus, they can be released into the school's gardens when we are through or used for vermiculture.
