Our Drosophila F1 cultures make it easy to study genetic crosses. Each vial contains larvae and pupae of the F1 generation of a cross between 2 different strains of Drosophila. (The parent generation is removed before shipment.)
The cross in this vial is sex-linked. This culture includes F1 fruit flies from a cross between white-eyed (white) females and red-eyed (wild type) males. The F1 males have white eyes. The expected F2 ratio is 1 wild type:1 white.
