BioBuilder® Bioengineering for a Changing World: Class 2: DNA and Protein Engineering Video

(in stock)

Grade 9–College. Bioengineers rely on traditional scientific techniques from molecular biology, namely DNA sequencing, PCR, and cloning. To engineer biology, though, they expand their toolkit to include foundational engineering ideas such as abstraction and standardization. This video lecture explores how bioengineers can use molecular biology, engineering ideas, and DNA synthesis to read, write, and print DNA, accelerating the Design-Build-Test cycle to prototype new genetic circuits and novel engineered proteins. Neuroscientific examples for molecular detection are also covered.
