Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fish that glow! Another interesting fish! They have now been bred to carry the glo gene to offspring so no need to inject each fish to make them glow which makes me happy for the fish. I would suggest buying small amounts (mabye 8) per 20 gallons as the fish chase eachother around often, having lots of live plants to hide in helps limit stress and offers a hiding spot for tired fish. You can even upgrade and have 50+ gallons for a small amount giving them excellent living conditions and lots of swimming space! I would suggest only keeping them with other Danios as others stated about aggression.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not healthy fish. I ordered several different hybrid strains of Glo-Fish (and wild-type Zebrafish) all at once for genetics experiments in an AP Biology course. Though they all arrived safely, the purples have all died within a week. Very unhappy customer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from GloFish dilemma I have successfully maintained GloFish for several years now. However, this summer i ordered a fresh batch of them from this company. I ordered 2 of each color (red, orange, yellow, purple, blue). Two fish arrived dead---their container stunk real bad. Within hours, a few more of the fish died. The blue and purple fish are not true to their stated colors--they are rather pale and washed out looking. The company replaced the fish just fine and with courtesy, but those replacements died, too. There were several calls made to this company after those replacements because the second round of replacements were problematic (some DOA and some died shortly thereafter). My water and tank are excellent--no ammonia, pH, or other water problems. It was suggested that the company change their shipping conditions for these fish. They send them in styrofoam containers with one small melted cooling gel pack. They need to make it more temperature and shipping friendly for the fish. The company was very gracious and worked with me on returns. I wound up having to pay for only a few fish that lived out of all the original stock and replacements. It was still very expensive. I then found these same fish, all colors, in local pet shops and purchased a few really cheap---way cheaper than this company. They lived. Ha! They only cost a couple of bucks at the local pet store and they cost 3 to 4x that through this company. A word of caution--these Danios (GloFish or native wild type) can be very very aggressive the larger they are. I had problems with the largest one in the pack years ago and this time around, too. They constantly dart at and ambush the other fish int eh tank, which stresses everyone out. So, in closing, while I recommend Carolina Biologicals as a terrific company to do business with, I cannot recommend purchasing these GloFish through them. Thank you.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from GloFish These fish look good in an aquarium, and the students are very interested in learning more about them. But, they do not seem to be particularly hardy. Two of the six fish I received died within the first two weeks that I had them, and the tank was in good shape with clean water.
