Do your students understand the relative effectiveness of disinfectants and antiseptics? Both contain chemical compounds that either inhibit or kill microorganisms. This demonstration kit enables an individual to discover through experimentation the relative effectiveness of 5 common disinfectants and antiseptics on Escherichia coli, a Gram-negative bacterium, and Bacillus cereus, a Gram-positive bacterium. It is for use by a teacher or student working individually. Note: Includes perishables for immediate use. Keep bacteria cultures at room temperature; do not incubate or refrigerate.
