Great for small groups or for students who are learning from home!
Grades 612. In this series of hands-on activities, students are introduced to Newton's laws of motion. Students first launch balloon-powered rockets to explore the forces behind movement. For the design challenge, students are then encouraged to brainstorm ways to modify their balloon rockets to achieve greater distance or highest payload lift. As they perform simple horizontal or vertical tasks, they develop problem solving and engineering skills. Materials support a single student or a small group of students. Includes instructions.
