eMind Pig Virtual Dissection Software, Classroom License

$99.84

Description

A 1-year classroom license to an engaging alternative to hands-on dissection that allows students to explore the anatomy of the fetal pig. Students dissect the digestive, cardiorespiratory, urogenital, endocrine, and skeletal systems of the pig. During each exercise, they remove organs or other anatomical structures from each of the systems and their functions are displayed. A photo and/or video may also be available of the structure at the time of removal. Students are then quizzed on what they have learned; they are asked to replace the organs based on their name or function. A test follows the complete dissection. As students review the anatomical structures and their functions in each dissection, you can easily track student progress through the Teacher Dashboard. Assessment questions about each separate system are also available in editable PDF format for you to e-mail or print for your students.

While virtual dissection software is a great alternative to hands-on dissection, it is also an engaging supplemental activity that can be used for preparation and assessment. As a pre-lab activity, students are exposed to the anatomical structures they will encounter during the hands-on dissections, minimizing student questions and lab time. After the lab, the software can be used as an assessment tool to review structure name, placement, and function.

In addition to the dissection, 2 virtual lab exercises are included. In the first lab, students study the effects exercise has on the levels of carbon dioxide exhaled by mammals. The second lab has students compare the heart rate recovery time after various levels of exercise. Data sheets and assessment questions for each lab are available in editable PDF format. These are also great supplemental activities after hands-on dissections!

Once you purchase the license, you will receive an e-mail with your log-in credentials within 24 hours. To begin, utilize the Teacher Dashboard and follow the steps to create a class. Then add your students and assign the dissection to the class. You can track the progress of each student as they advance through the lessons. If tracking student scores is not necessary, you can also simply create Wildcard Users. This is explained in more detail on the Teacher Dashboard Quick Reference Sheet.

As a bonus, eMind Animalcules software is included with your purchase for FREE. This digital microscope includes 24 commonly used slides from each of the 5 kingdoms: Eubacteria, Protista, Plantae, Fungi, and Animalia. Students can switch between low, medium, and high power as they watch many of the specimens move across the field of view.

This interactive, Web-based software works on all devices (computers, tablets, smartphones, etc.), allowing easy access for you and your students. Narration is also available on eMind software.

This is a 32-user, per seat license. This gives up to 32 individual users the right to use the software that was purchased. A classroom license can be used for off-campus, remote learning but students must be enrolled at one physical location. License duration is 12 months from the date of purchase.
