Rated 5 out of 5 by from Student used these seeds for a science fair projec A student used these seeds for her science fair project. They worked great and she was able to collect robust information in a relatively short period of time. She ended up taking second place in the State Middle School Science and Engineering Fair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for Studying Life Cycles Our students grow Fast Plants as part of an investigation into the life cycles of organisms and how all organisms share common characteristics. We purchase these seeds each year and always have successful results. Each group of 4 students make a planter system and sows 8 seeds. For many of our groups we can expect 5-7 seeds to sprout within one to two days. Not long after cotyledons are easily observed as are the beginnings of more complex plant parts (e.g. leaves, blossoms, flowers). Within short time period (typically 2-3 weeks) the plants have flowered and are ready to be pollinated. Students enjoy this immensely! They also like observing the flower up close and learning about the anatomy of the flower. It's great to teach reproduction in flowering plants. The life cycle culminates in the collection of the seeds. Students can plant these seeds and watch the cycle again. Using Fast Plants is a great way for students to engage in scientific practices: procedure, inquiry design, hypothesis testing, modeling, observing, analysis of data, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Science Fair Projects I encourage students who are doing science fair projects to use these seeds. They can measure not only the effect of their independent variable on height, but also flower and fruit production as well. Easy to grow and water.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I had a student who needed fast-growing seeds for a science fair experiment. The seeds arrived in plenty of time, every seed germinated, and she won first prize. There were even extra seeds in the packet, which were appreciated.
