The process of homeostasis is important for all life, as it allows organisms to maintain a relatively constant internal environment in response to the ever-changing external environment. This kit gives students a hands-on lesson in homeostasis as they observe and manipulate the stomata of Zebrina. An additional extension inquiry activity involving phenotypic plasticity gives students more experience examining nature where they live. Kit materials are sufficient for 30 students.
