Description
Intermediate - requires basic training in microbiology. For a class of 30. All fungi and some bacteria form spores that have a reproductive function. Only bacterial endospores allow the microbe to withstand harsh environmental conditions. Students subject 3 bacteria and 3 fungi to boiling and make observations on any growth after the boiling process. Students will learn the problems endospores cause in the medical and food service communities. Requires 4 to 7 days from setup to completion.
