This culture is Gram–, motile rods; pigment varies from pale pink to bright red but typically does not produce the intense pigment of the D1 strain (items #155452, #155453, and #155455). It is cultured on nutrient broth at 25° C in a tube. Each culture contains enough material for a class of 30 students. Cultures are guaranteed as to species and purity. Note: Tubes with liquid cultures contain about 5 mL of liquid bacteria.
