Students set up a choice experiment to determine the food preferences of Brassica butterfly larvae. Results are collected and quantified, and their significance is determined using chi-square analysis. Applying these techniques, students pose proximate and ultimate questions about other Brassica butterfly larvae behaviors and design an experiment to answer the questions. The 8-Station Kit includes enough materials for a class of 32 students working in groups of 4.
Note: Kit includes voucher to request perishable material later due to the need to grow the Brassica plant seeds included in kit for 5 days before receiving Brassica butterfly eggs.
